Our vision of development for the Haut-Saint-Laurent Valley
A welcoming area where management and labour, conscious of mutual respect, consult each other in order to promote heritage and the “green-blue” environment, with an innovative view to sustainable development and accessible and standardized services.
Development directions
1. Innovative, diversified expertise, adapted and standardized with and for all. A welcoming area, accessible and multi-cultural, promoting the environment in its “green-blue” development direction, ensuring the quality of life of its citizens, supported by innovative and diversified educational services adapted to each person and in harmony with management and labour of social economy.
2. The Haut-Saint-Laurent Valley, comprehensive, sustainable and concerted growth, a region where citizens hold an important place, participate and consult each other on what is of concern to them. A region whose comprehensive and sustainable development is inspired by “Agenda 21” and offers, in partnership, local services having a positive social impact on the whole of its territory.
3. The Haut-Saint-Laurent Valley, known for its “nature and culture” attractions. A region where people come first and is known for its historical and cultural identity and its cultural and tourist attractions, in harmony with its river and its gardens.
4. A proactive and united partnership. A region developed proactively around formative plans which integrate well with its green-blue environmental identity, by people who work together towards viable development (integrating social, individual and economic needs) so as to leave the planet intact for future generations.
N.B. When the CRÉ of the Haut-Saint-Laurent Valley was established, it was known temporarily as The regional conference of elected officials of the Montérégie west or CRÉ west.
